European and Brazilian Portuguese: Does the Variety Matter When Translating Documents?

Yes. Differences include vocabulary, spelling, and the names of documents and institutions. For example, a driver’s license is called a carta de condução in Portugal and a Carteira Nacional de Habilitação in Brazil. Civil registration matters are handled by a conservatória do registo civil in Portugal and a cartório de registro civil in Brazil.

When translating into Portuguese, we select the variety appropriate for the destination country. When translating into Polish, we take into account the meaning of local terms and the functions of the institutions concerned. Order Your Translation in Warsaw or Online

To receive a translation quote, bring your document to our office or send us a clear scan or photo online. Please make sure that all pages, stamps, and annotations are visible.

In your message, please include:

• The translation direction and destination country;
• The intended use of the documents;
• Your preferred completion date;
• Your preferred translation format: printed or electronic;
• Any additional requirements provided by the recipient.

After reviewing the documents, we will provide a quote and a proposed completion date. Once you accept the terms, we will begin work.

Do You Need to Present the Original?

An electronic copy is sufficient for a quote. However, for the translator to certify the translation as a true translation of the original, they must inspect the original document. You can leave it at our office, present it when collecting your translation, or send it by courier. If you cannot provide the original, we will translate from a scan or copy and state this in the certification.

How Will You Receive Your Completed Translation?

We offer printed translations and electronic versions bearing the translator’s qualified electronic signature. A scan of a printed translation is not the same as an electronically signed file.

You can collect your translation in person in Warsaw. We also offer free delivery within Poland via InPost. International delivery is available at an additional charge through a courier service agreed with you.

Portuguese Sworn Translation Pricing

We provide an individual quote for each translation. The cost depends on the volume of the documents, the type of content, the subject matter, and the turnaround option selected.

For sworn translations, the billing unit is a standard page of 1,125 characters, including spaces. This is not the same as an A4 sheet, so the number of pages in the document alone is not enough to determine the price.

How Quickly Can We Complete Your Portuguese Sworn Translation?

You can usually choose from four turnaround options:

Larger sets of documents require more time. We therefore confirm the completion date after assessing the scope of each order.

If you need printed translations by a specific date, please also allow time for delivery. Translation and courier delivery are two separate stages.
